Delhi School News: Kejriwal government’s big notice to the famous school located in Janakpuri, Delhi, seeking reply within 15 days on security rules and rigging in funds.

New Delhi/Lucknow. A very big and administrative news of this time is coming out from the Education Department of the National Capital Delhi. The Directorate of Education (DoE) of the Delhi government has issued a stringent ‘Show Cause Notice’ to a big and renowned private school located in Janakpuri area for serious financial irregularities and violation of student safety norms. After this sudden action of the government, there has been a stir among the private school operators and parents of Delhi. The government asked the school management to clarify its position. 15 days time Has given, and has given a strict warning of even canceling the recognition of the school if a satisfactory answer is not received.

Serious allegations of misappropriation of funds and financial irregularities

According to the notice issued by the Directorate of Education, when an internal audit and investigation was conducted following long-standing complaints against the school, several shocking financial violations came to light:

• Wrong diversion of funds: The investigation found that the school management was diverting the fees charged from students and using the school’s reserve funds for other commercial or personal purposes, which is strictly against the rules of the Delhi School Education Act (DSEA).

• Lack of transparency in accounts: Huge discrepancies have been found in the annual financial accounts (balance sheets) of the school, for which many huge expenses were shown without informing the department.

Case of playing with the safety rules of students

Apart from the financial irregularities, what is most serious and sensitive is the gross negligence in the security arrangements of students within the school premises:

1. Ignoring fire safety standards: The fire extinguishers installed in the school building were either expired or the emergency exits were blocked by illegal construction.

2. Shutdown of CCTV cameras: CCTV cameras installed in many sensitive corners and corridors of the campus were not working for a long time, due to which the safety of the students was left to God.

3. Lack of police verification of staff: Mandatory police verification and background checks of many non-teaching staff deployed in the school (such as bus drivers, conductors and sanitation workers) were also not completed.

15 day ultimatum: School’s recognition may be cancelled.

According to senior Delhi government officials, the school management has been given a final ultimatum of 15 working days to respond to the show cause notice. If the school completely fails to provide proof of closing all these security loopholes and clarification on financial irregularities within the stipulated time frame, the Delhi Government may take strict action and suspend or completely cancel the recognition of the school with immediate effect. The Directorate of Education has made it clear that financial fraud in the name of children’s safety and education will not be tolerated in any school in the capital and all rules will be strictly followed.
