Who is JPSC Chairman L. Khyangte?

l. Khiangte has been a very senior and well-known face of Jharkhand Administrative and Police Services. Before becoming the Chairman of Jharkhand Public Service Commission, he had also served on the highest administrative post like Chief Secretary of the state. During his long administrative service, he has been known as a tough and experienced officer. However, when he was given the command of JPSC after his retirement from the post of Chief Secretary, it was expected that there would be transparency in the functioning of the Commission and lessons would be learned from past mistakes. But after the revelations of alleged irregularities in the recent examinations, results and appointments, big question marks are now being raised on his leadership.

Why did Jharkhand Public Service Commission come under investigation?

JPSC has always been accused of paper leaks, irregularities in evaluation of copies and nepotism. On the other hand, due to the possibility of far reaching corruption and the involvement of senior administrative officials, the demand for the intervention of the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) is also gaining momentum. As the scope of investigation is increasing, many officials of the commission and chairman L. Khyangte’s troubles are increasing continuously.
