Congress leaders and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha amid deepening NEET paper leak controversy across the country and police action on students. Rahul Gandhi called a press conference in the presence of students at 10 Janpath (New Delhi). Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the government, alleging that British-like brutality has been used against the innocent protesting students and pellet guns have been used on them.

During the press conference, Rahul Gandhi presented Sahil, a student who was seriously injured in the police action, in front of the media and immediately made 3 big demands from the Central Government. 3 main demands of students put forward by Rahul Gandhi:

1. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should be removed from the cabinet: Rahul Gandhi said that merely changing the department or transfer of the Education Minister will not be acceptable to the country, he should be completely expelled from the Cabinet.

2. Action against policemen who resorted to lathicharge and firing: Strict legal action should be taken immediately against the officers and policemen responsible for brutally beating the protesting students and firing pellets/pellets on them.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should apologize to the students: Rahul said that many students have been badly injured in the police action, out of which one student is in danger of losing his eyesight. The Prime Minister of the country himself should apologize to the students for this inhuman behavior.

Bringing the young student Sahil, who was injured during the protest in Delhi, in front of the media, Rahul Gandhi said that Sahil was only holding the tricolor in his hand and demanding transparent examination and the rights of his hard work.

The police opened fire on him and seriously injured him. This is not an oppression like the British, but the barbarity of the Modi government, where innocent students demanding their rights get bullets instead of justice.”

• Accused of brutality against thousands of youth: He claimed that the police administration has behaved extremely violently not only with Sahil but also with thousands of such youths who were protesting across the country.

“Government cannot suppress students’ protest”

Talking about the threat to the future of lakhs of students and their families due to the paper leak, Rahul Gandhi said:

“The government should stop lying now. The government has directly attacked the future of our country i.e. the youth. But no matter how many decisions the government takes or how much force it exerts, it cannot stop this movement of the students of the country, because the youth are the real future of this country.”

After the increasing anger of the students and the aggressive attitude of the opposition, there has been a huge pressure on the Central Government and the Education Ministry to take action.
