Ground Report (Special Correspondent, Lucknow):
A heartbreaking and inhumane incident has come to light from the Madiyanv police station area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Two cynical recovery agents kidnapped a 19-year-old youth after he failed to pay the EMI on his mobile phone to a finance company. In the name of recovering the money, the accused held him hostage for several days and illegally extracted and sold his blood three times to recoup the money.
Kidnapping for a 10,000 installment
According to police, the victim (Shubham Chauhan) had purchased a mobile phone on finance and the installments were due. The accused recovery agents—Abhishek Srivastava and Sachin Gupta—pressured him to recover the money. When the young man was unable to pay immediately, the accused deceived him and took him to a secluded room in Madiyanv and forcibly held him hostage.
Sold blood illegally three times, arrested by police
The accused resorted to horrific tactics to collect the ₹10,000 installment. They took the young man to nearby private blood banks and brokers and pressured him into selling his blood on three separate occasions. The victim somehow escaped and returned home, narrating his ordeal to his family. Upon receiving the family’s complaint, the Madiyanav police immediately registered a case, conducted raids, and arrested both accused.
