This is being considered a big gamechanger for the all-round development of the region.
Route from Bharatkup to Madhya Pradesh border: It will be very easy to reach religious places
The route of this new link expressway has been prepared strategically. This expressway will start from the Varanasi-Banda road near Bharatkup in Chitrakoot and will end near the Madhya Pradesh border near Ahmedganj village and will be directly connected to the Bundelkhand Expressway. Pilgrims and tourists will get the biggest benefit from this connectivity. Once it becomes operational, major religious places like the ghats of the holy Mandakini river, the famous Kamadgiri Parikrama Marg and Ramghat will come directly under the purview of the high-speed corridor. Devotees coming from every corner of the country and the world will no longer have to face the hassle of local traffic jams and will be able to reach Chitrakoot Dham easily.
Direct connectivity with Delhi-NCR, Lucknow and Kanpur will be strengthened.
This link expressway is going to play a very important role from the point of view of traffic ease. It will be directly connected to the Agra-Lucknow Expressway through the Bundelkhand Expressway, from where passengers will be able to reach Delhi-NCR (Noida and Greater Noida) without any interruption using the Yamuna Expressway. Apart from this, there is a plan to connect it with Jhansi Link Expressway in future. With all these expressways being interconnected, passengers coming from major cities like Delhi, Agra, Gwalior, Jhansi, Lucknow and Kanpur will save both time and fuel.
Defense Corridor and Industrial Development: New employment opportunities will be created in the area
This project is not limited to religious pilgrimage only, rather it will become the main means of economic and industrial rejuvenation of Bundelkhand. It is noteworthy that Chitrakoot and the entire Bundelkhand region is a main center of the UP Defense Corridor. Industrial corridors are being developed by UPEDA on both sides of this link expressway. This will provide direct impetus to logistics parks, hotel and hospitality industry, handicrafts and manufacturing units at the local level. Local traders and entrepreneurs will be able to quickly send their manufactured goods to Delhi, Lucknow, Kanpur and other big markets of the country, which will create new employment opportunities for the youth.
