Strict instructions to investigate negligent officers, identify water-logged places and immediately release relief material, Keshav Prasad Maurya

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya today instructed the officials in Prayagraj that all the concerned departments including Revenue, Health, Municipal Body, Rural Development, Police, Water Police, SDRF should work with mutual coordination in the flood affected areas. There should be no lack of departmental coordination in relief and rescue operations under any circumstances. Every officer will have to fulfill the responsibility of his area clearly and will have to solve the problems of the people by being active in the field.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that in the event of flood disaster, the government stands with the affected people with full sensitivity and seriousness. The priority of the government is to provide safety of every citizen, timely relief and all possible assistance to the affected families. He said that it is the responsibility of the administrative machinery to make the public feel in times of crisis that the government and administration stand with them with full strength.

He directed the officials to take lessons from the current flood situation and prepare a concrete action plan for the future also. In areas where the problem of waterlogging occurs again and again, technical investigation of its root causes should be done and action should be taken towards a permanent solution. Regular monitoring of drains and drainage systems should be done and necessary preparations should be completed before the monsoon.

Shri Maurya finally said that there is no scope for carelessness at the time of disaster. Officers should work with full sensitivity, promptness and accountability. Responsibility will be fixed if any deficiency is found in relief and rescue operations. The government has a clear goal that every flood affected family should get timely relief, help should reach every needy and loss of life should be prevented with every possible effort.
