Lucknow (Special Report): Uncertainty persists regarding the recruitment of vacant posts of teachers in the non-government aided and government Sanskrit schools of Uttar Pradesh.The state government and the Secondary Education Department have yet to clarify which agency or board will conduct the selection process for the long-vacant positions. This is causing thousands of qualified candidates in Sanskrit education to wait longer.
There is confusion in the departments regarding the recruitment agency.
Final consensus has not been reached on whether the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) or another specialized board will be responsible for selecting regular teachers and principals for Sanskrit secondary schools. Previously, it was believed that the newly formed Education Service Selection Commission would complete the recruitment process for these posts, but a lack of clarity in official guidelines and gazette notifications has created a deadlock. While the process of formulating proposals and policies at the departmental level is ongoing, the final nodal agency has not been finalized.
Many schools are running on the basis of honorarium system.
To ensure that the teaching-learning process in many Sanskrit institutions of the state is not affected due to the delay in permanent recruitment, work is being carried out by deploying teachers on honorarium (temporary/contract). Due to lack of regular recruitment since the year 2018, a large number of posts are lying vacant as compared to the sanctioned posts.Candidates and Sanskrit teacher organizations are demanding that the government should announce the name of the recruitment agency as soon as possible and provide permanent appointments by starting the online application process.
