Trump defended the US actions, saying, “The only way to deal with these people is by force, and real force is military force. Two days ago we almost had a peace deal, but they broke it at the last minute. Now these attacks will continue until I say enough is enough.” Trump claimed that if America relaxes at this time, it will take at least 20 years for Iran to rebuild its military capability.
Trump’s big revelation on Kharg Island: ‘Oil wells were released from a distance of 25 yards’
Trump made a big and shocking claim regarding the attacks on ‘Kharg Island’, considered the backbone of Iran’s economy and the largest oil export center. Trump said, “As you know, we have already attacked Kharg Island two or three times. I had ordered the military to destroy everything there, but to leave that small part about 25 yards away. I did not want the main end of the oil to be completely destroyed, because that would have a very serious and devastating effect on the global economy.”
Trump’s big U-turn: Decision on 20% security duty on ships changed
Amidst all this tension, President Trump has taken a big U-turn on one of his previously announced economic decisions. Earlier he had announced to impose a heavy security tax of 20 percent on all international commercial ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, but now he has withdrawn it completely. Trump has adopted a new stance and said that this tax will not be collected on the request of the kings and sultans of Gulf countries. Instead, the Gulf countries are going to invest billions of dollars in America, the same investment will be considered as compensation for America’s military security cost.
Counterattack: Iran’s missile attack on US airbase in Jordan
In response to these continuous air strikes by America, Iran has also taken a suicidal stance. According to Iranian media and international news agency Al Jazeera, Iran has fired several missiles targeting US military facilities at Azrak Airbase located in Jordan. After this attack, sirens started ringing all over Jordan and Jordan’s air defense system immediately became active to shoot down these missiles in the air. After this retaliatory attack, the threat of a major regional war in the Gulf countries has become more real.
